School Hours/Schedules

2024–2025 LOWER SCHOOL HOURS (K4–6th GRADE)

SCHOOL HOURS

  • K4: 8:00 am–1:10 pm (8:00 am–12:10 pm the first two weeks of school)
  • Kindergarten: 8:00 am–2:10 pm (8:00 am–12:50 pm the first two weeks of school)
  • 1st–6th Grade: 8:00 am–2:50 pm

DROP-OFF TIMES

  • Drop off between 7:35 and 8:00 am.
  • Supervision for students during morning arrival will begin at 7:35 am, so please do not drop off students before this time.

EARLY PICKUP TIMES (K4 & KINDERGARTEN)
K4 & kindergarten students start the year off with a shorter school day. Early pickup times for August 13–23 are given below. If you have a K4 and a kindergarten student, you may pick up both students at 12:50 pm.

REGULAR PICKUP TIMES

  • K4: Pick up between 1:10 and 1:25 pm.
  • Kindergarten: Pick up between 2:10 and 2:25 pm. (Kindergarten students with older siblings may go to aftercare at 2:25 pm and will not be charged if picked up along with older siblings by 3:15 pm.)
  • 1st–6th Grade: Pick up between 2:50 and 3:15 pm.
  • Unless a student is participating in an after-school activity, grammar school students not picked up by 1:25 pm (K4), 2:25 pm (K), or 3:15 pm (1st–6th grade) will be taken to aftercare, and applicable fees charged.

EARLY DISMISSAL TIME
The school day will finish early for lower school students on these days: Sept 19, Dec 20, Mar 14, May 23. No lunch program and no aftercare is provided on these days.

Lower School Early Dismissal Schedule: 8:00 am–12:00 pm

Please note: Cell phone use by drivers (calling or texting) while operating a vehicle on campus is prohibited.

2024–2025 UPPER SCHOOL HOURS (7th–12th GRADE)

SCHOOL HOURS

  • 7th–12th Grade: 8:25 am–3:15 pm

DROP-OFF TIMES

  • 7th–12th Grade: Please drop off/arrive between 7:45 and 8:25 am.
  • Please have your child at school 5–10 minutes before the scheduled time for class to begin. This allows students to settle themselves and get ready for class.

PICKUP TIMES

  • 7th–12th Grade: Pick up between 3:15 and 3:40 pm.
  • The Geneva School does not have oversight of dialectic and rhetoric students once they are dismissed from the last period of the day.

EARLY DISMISSAL TIME
The school day will finish early for upper school students on these days: Sept 19, Dec 19 & 20, Mar 14, May 22 & 23. No lunch program is provided on these days.

  • Regular Early Dismissal Days (Sept 14, Mar 8): 8:25 am–12:30 pm
  • Exam Early Dismissal Days (Dec 19 & 20, May 22 & 23): 9:00 am–12:30 am

Exam Schedule: All upper school students taking exams (except those requiring extra time) report to school at 9:00 am. The first exam takes place from 9:15–10:45 am and the second exam from 11:00 am–12:30 pm. Students who are granted extra time through an ISP report at 8:00 am on exam days.
