The chief goal of the TGS football program is training young men to compete with integrity, passion, and excellence. These attributes carry over into every aspect of student athletes’ lives, and expectations are high on and off the field. Players learn to manage their time, balancing school, friends, family, and sport. In an environment that builds athletes up and also provides opportunities for them to build one another up, students develop friendships and habits that continue beyond the confines of a locker room, or even their time at Geneva. The varsity team consists primarily of 10th–12th graders while the D-League, or developmental team, consists of 7th–9th graders.

David Langdon joined the TGS athletic staff in 2023 as assistant athletic director and Geneva’s inaugural football program director and head coach. Prior to Geneva, he served as the athletic director and assistant head varsity football coach at Trinity Preparatory School, Winter Park. Geneva will be his fourth position as an inaugural football coach—he started the football programs at Cypress Creek High School, Pine Castle Christian Academy, and Orlando Christian Prep. David also served as the head coach for Dr. Phillips High School. He is a six-time Florida Athletic Coaches Association District Coach of the Year. Coach Langdon is also a former Central Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership board member and is still very active in the organization.
David received Christ during a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting during his sophomore year at Evans High School, Orlando. His faith continued to grow during his college years at Mars Hill University, NC, where he served as the captain of FCA during his junior and senior years. His mission in life has been to have God use him to lead others to Christ through the vocations of education and coaching.
David and his wife, Christina, have three adult children—twin daughters, Lilly and Melanie, and a son, Kellen. Christina is the principal at Sterling Park Elementary in Casselberry. The family worships at Church Together in Casselberry.
When asked what his secret is to building a new football program, Coach Longdon believes it is servant leadership: “I believe servant leadership is essential not only to building a new football team but also to establishing relationships that enable us to share the gospel and exemplify a lifestyle that pleases Christ.”
