College Counseling
I have had the pleasure of directing The Geneva School’s college counseling program since 2012. It has been quite a journey—guiding hundreds of TGS students as they discern where God is calling them to continue their education.
I wish I could tell you that the process is simple and straightforward, but it is my privilege to help families navigate the process. My priority is to give each student and family the attention and guidance necessary to find the college that is a great fit. There are several factors, in many cases personal ones, that come into play when helping students determine where they might apply and eventually attend. Effective teamwork among all parties involved—students, parents, teachers, and myself—is essential to accomplish a student’s college counseling goals.
Geneva students have a successful track record of receiving acceptances from multiple colleges and universities, with the majority of seniors attending their first choice college. In addition Geneva graduates are well prepared for college! Academically, spiritually, and socially, a Geneva education—and all that this community of faith and learning encompasses—prepares graduates to excel at the post-secondary level.
I’m beyond grateful to have facilitated post-Geneva plans for so many graduates and look forward to continuing to do so in the years to come.
