Merely Players (Drama Troupe)
In the collaborative art of theatre, students learn to listen empathetically, respond graciously, anticipate the needs of others, as well as practice voice projection, choreographed movement, and stage presence. In addition, whether on the stage or behind the scenes, students learn to enact the virtues of submission, service, sacrifice, courage, and trust as they work together as cast and crew to tell stories onstage.
The Geneva School Merely Players produce two mainstage shows a year, as well as an annual showcase of student-driven sketches. Auditions for the mainstage productions are open to all students in 9th–12th grade. Rehearsals are generally held after school, and both onstage and offstage roles are available.
