Volunteer at Geneva

The next best thing to being a student at The Geneva School is being involved as a volunteer.

Parental involvement in the life of the school has always been a vibrant element in the Geneva community experience. Whether you serve as a member of our board of governors, coach a basketball team, chair a special event, or dress up for Colonial Day—we want you to be involved.

Volunteering at Geneva is a great way to further your partnership with the school. Our field trips and events spill over with active, enthusiastic parents. Many will say, “Wow! I wish that I’d had this kind of education!”

What Needs to Be Done?

Our teachers, athletic coaches, and staff welcome parental assistance. We have both one-time and ongoing opportunities, including our SALT Serveathon, Christmas Festival, Grandparents Day, the Annual Auction Gala, a variety of office needs, photography, and prayer groups for moms and dads. We even have an occasional need for parents who prefer to work at home.

Please submit the form below and someone will be in touch with you.

Background and Driving Record Checks

In most cases, volunteers who help out at school are required to have a valid background check on file through the State of Florida’s VECHS program including fingerprinting. Situations where a background check is required are:

  • Volunteers who work with students in a potentially unsupervised setting
  • Volunteers who drive/chaperone students on school sanctioned trips and events where the transportation is organized by TGS staff members.

  • Background checks are valid for as long as you stay at TGS.

  • The cost for the background check is $41.25.

  • When visitors sign in at the front desk, volunteers who have a valid background check on file will be given a special volunteer badge that they should wear while they are on campus. When they sign out, the badges should be returned to the front desk.

Driver Check Application (Google Form)
  • To ensure the safety of Geneva students, the school requires that all drivers submit to a driving record check. Only those cleared by the business office will be permitted to drive students. Minimum insurance requirements are required

  • In addition, all parents driving students on school sanctioned events such as field trips must have completed a background check through the school.

  • A $13 charge ($10 after the first year) will be added to a family’s account to cover the cost of this check. Driving record checks are valid for one year (365 days).

Thank you!

Thank you, parents, grandparents, and friends of TGS for all you do to help Geneva realize its vision to become a formidable force in the expansion and enrichment of Christ’s kingdom.  Be encouraged that your helping hands, whether seen or unseen, are part of God’s provision for Geneva, for the advancement of his kingdom, and for each one of our students.
